Seems odd. We kneel to confess, we kneel to propose marriage, we kneel to receive blessings, we genuflect the tabernacle. Seems to me that it’s a somewhat sacred gesture. If your appeal to standing is that it’s more traditional, then explaining why it was the common and predominate form of receiving the Eucharist amongst the faithful needs to be covered.

I’ve known many people go from standing to receive to kneeling to receive and the universal feedback is that it has increased their Eucharistic reverence and understanding. I have yet to encounter someone who has done the opposite in my day to day life.

I always knelt as a young person and teenager. I prefer kneeling, receiving on the tongue and only from a priest. God knows my heart.
