Really enjoyed this article, I'll be thinking about it a lot. The detail about lifting the car ban in conservative Judaism is fascinating.

Best article I've read yet discussing the need for Catholic community.

I have to say though as a former evangelical, even if it is just meeting for a couple hours on Sunday us Catholics don't even do that I rarely get to know most of my brothers and sisters as they leave right away.

I fully agree with your assessment that we must de-suburbanize Catholicism. However, I think that both the easiest and best place to center that renewal is the parish and if there is no reason to be around the parish it will never happen. So having reasons for people to be at the parish more than once a week and to have a place for casual socialization seems essential. I think given how busy priests often are this must be done by laity.

Either way great article. God Bless.
